I'm just wondering if anyone can help me try to track SiR parts for my Civic.Honder Aust is useless and I haven't heard back from Neil in NZ.
Basically I snapped a rear stabiliser bar bracket and had to get one fabricated to replace it. This got me to thinking: where the hell do I get spares from, as not many parts from the SiR are interchangable with the standard GL Civic. In particular, steering and suspension components (springs and struts are interchangable at least). Brakes? What do I use for pads etc? What about ball joints? Engine mounts are on their way out as well.
A bit of a dilemma - especially as the car is kind of unique over here - except for a EF8 CRX in Queensland.
Anyway, if anyone has JDM contacts with Honda, could they pass them on?
Oh, and does anyone have valve and sparkplug clearances? It's getting a bit noisy up top and that's next on my to do list.
Thanks

Here I go.....
Integra braking components from 90-93 Tegs are identical to the SiR Civic and CRX.
The Sway bar on the front end and the lower arms are only used on the Civic and CRX SiR! Kinda sucks, but it's what keeps the handling so level - no trailing links..definate bonus.
The rear sway bar is the same size as the Integra 92-93 US GSR rear sway, so you can find these bushings no problem and such - not sure about the mount bracket though.
The other stuff...engine, very hard. If your AC compressor goes, maybe the Integra B18A. The Alternator is swappable with most Honda and Toyota (sprint made not larger toyotas) alternators. The Distributor...closest link is the B18A 90-91 Integra. One eyelet for mounting is off slightly, other is completely off, but they have the same rotor offset. The Throttle Body is same plate bore, and the mounting eyelets - 4, will be off in two of the eyelets, and possibly drilling over one slight - you have to play with it - will also have to changeout swingarm for the B16A or B18C or H22A DOHC-VTEC version to open plate faster for acceleration...just reuse yours. What else have I noticed, hmmm. The Instrument Cluster is where your screwed. If you find another one, buy it by all means. These things have a tendancy to go bad in the speedo and then you lose your VTEC. Also grab a spare electronic speed sensor on the Y1 tranny...only on Civic and CRX SiR.
If your fuel low level sensor goes bad - the 90-93 Integra and Accord use the same one.
The crossmembers on the front are also only indigenous to the SiR. Same goes for the knuckle...unless you can locate a US compliment to the 90-91 Civic EX Sedan with D16A6 Si engine...same knuckle as SiR...however not positive...as far as I can tell.
Doors I believe are completely different. Seats belts are rear mounted on yours, I know 88 models are in US, but european, asian, and australian maybe also be rear mounted for all 4g civics and 2g crx's.
Enough talking about this stuff. Your never need to Stockpile..I do that stuff and never use it, it's been three years now, never have.

Japanese have some many different mirror tints it will make you sick walking down an isle at Autobacs. Two shade tint, some with colors, some greyed from inside...etc.
Jack up the corner you think is warped, take off the wheel, spin the rotor...sometimes easiest putting a long screwdriver between opposing studs in the center and turning this way. you'll feel the skipping, and should see the shinny metal spots where it's rubbing too much. Pads always ride the rotor, but they are self-adjusting, they only go in and out so much, so a warped rotor will eat the pad up pretty quick.
B16A engines seem to stay pretty clean and last longer for some reason. I've come to notice this.
Also if you had to put side intrusion bars and bumper supports on that Civic...don't swap the other civic parts unless they are exactly the same...bumpers probably, but the doors, your best off having them weld in the side-beams! I don't think the non-jdm spec doors are the same. Lets jsut say on the CRX VTEC, the door rainguards that come stock ont eh VTEC model do not fit the american CRX models. The curvature along it is different and bend...not sure why. Tried two pairs and then just threw them out as they were worthless at that point.
